Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire in Montreal's West Island is a tiny little town that is a bit sleepy. It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing to those unfamiliar with its meaning. It is often believed that it is an island that lies west of Montreal However, the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities in Lachine as well as West. Amanda Brugel grew up on the island and is commonly known as the place where she was born. It is true that she stayed there for a short period of time. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa the city of Ontario. In her early years, she wanted to be the next big thing in her career, but a sudden expansion of her body made it impossible. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed that she wore heels and was 6 feet 1 inch tall. When I surpassed my male counterpart, I stopped. Brugel was one of many former dancers that turned into acting. Her teacher from high school was the one who pushed her in the right direction. The teacher encouraged her to audition for a part in her school's production. Following a trial, she ended up as the leading lady of Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theater Program and graduated with the Bachelor in Fine Arts degree in 2000. In the past 20 years, Brugel's work been seen on the large and small screen. She gained the most recognition when she landed her part as Rita in the award-winning television show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian actor in Season 1 which was viewed only at times.
